The Sharon Springs Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization, incorporated on January 28, 1930.
Our Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Sharon Springs Chamber of Commerce to be leaders in the community by promoting business, civic and economic growth, while enhancing the quality of life of the individuals working and residing in the area served.
We have an "open enrollment" policy, which permits any private individual or business to join who has an interest in the betterment of our community. Membership is not restricted to businesses nor is it restricted to residents of the community.
Some of the Chamber’s activities:
- Through its reciprocal memberships with the county chambers in Schoharie, Montgomery, and Otsego as well as the Cooperstown chamber, our members’ businesses are exposed far beyond the local level.
- Annually, the Chamber is a recipient of “I Love NY” matching funds for advertising outside Schoharie County.
- A chamber member is an active participant on the county Chamber of Commerce Tourism committee, Group Tourism and Tourism Steering Committee (a new appointment this year).
- A web site that includes a current Member Directory including links to their web pages; a history of Sharon; a list of attractions, accommodations and dining. The web site is an ever-evolving project and the goal is to continue to have it grow.
- Every year, we distribute approximately 3,000 Quick Reference Business Guides (QRBG’s) throughout the county. This directory is a listing of our contributing members as well as other community information.
- Each year a Business Award Scholarship is granted to a deserving Sharon Springs Central School district student.
- Every year, the Chamber sponsors at least one of the Summer Concerts held during July and August.
- Throughout the year, the Chamber donates to various local organizations.
- During the holiday season, the Chamber hosts a Holiday Party for its membership. Food, drink and an uproarious raffle provide fun for all!
- The Sharon Springs Chamber of Commerce is experiencing new growth and excitement. We are open to new ideas and always welcome suggestions. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month, 7:00 p.m. at the Library Community Room. If you have any questions, please contact us.
